For over more than 20 years, Pro-Ject audio Systems has earned a worldwide reputation for excellent but reasonably-priced turntables, which revolutionised the analogue market. Simple but highly functional designs with high-quality materials, together with excellent sound quality, are the trademarks of Pro-Ject audio Systems. Now we have assigned the same principles to the new box Design series of high quality electronic products.
One of the first products we chose to sell in our store. Back in 2004 we knew that analog, and especially vinyl, was really where the direction of Reference Media belonged. We needed to find a high quality manufacturer of record players. We contacted Pro-Ject’s North American distributor, Sumiko, and asked if we could become dealers. Their response was “Yes. You can become dealers, but you need to come to Berkley, California, for training.” Rob and I arranged to attend dealer training and the rest, as they say, is history. This was really the beginning of our store, in a sense, because the staff at Sumiko were just so welcoming, knowledgeable and skilled in the art of setting up and demonstrating their systems that we became dealers for several of the products they distribute.
